In 2015, Nick Elder (a biological grandson of Clara) sent me a lot more information about these Sneyds. Clara was born 28 August 1901 and named by her mother, Julia Greig, as Clara Evelyn, birth place Riverton Southland. Father’s name not stated. However there is an order of adoption dated 8th September 1904 on that certificate. The new certificate with Charles Frederick Sneyd and Ellen Sneyd as father and mother now names Clara as Clara Evelyn Greig Sneyd. 817

Julia (no middle name) Greig, stated as mother on Clara's original birth certificate, and whom it states was born in Mataura, Southland, and was 29 years old at the time of 28th of August 1901.817

Clara herself had at least one daughter who was given up for adoption (the mother of Nick Elder) and a son with a different father.
