[C-D, IV, 602]. Paid homage to the King for the lands of Saint-Côme (Cosme) on 23 March, 1552, and acquired, by a contract of 19 September 1557, the lands and Seigneurie of la Boissière, from Jacques de Bouzène, Chevalier, Seigneur of the preceding. He distinguished himself in the Protestant party during the wars of the League, in which he served abroad as Ensign in the Company of Pierre Susu [?], called Captain Bouillarge, in 1567, surprising [?] the town of Nimes on the 15th of November, 1569, and made Governor of that town on 11 June, 1580. He went to the aid of Montpellier to lift the siege of that town by the Marshal Montmorency-Damville, Governor of the Province, being there in person [?] on 1 Oct. 1577. He was made Gentilhomme ordinaire de la Chambre du Roi, by Brevet on 22 Jan 1581.
