Notes for Margaret (Mary?) Ellen Jones
The birth certificate of Alfred is difficult to read, but I thought her name read Mary. I guess not. She remarried Isaac Martin Bradshaw after Benjamin died. Well, so it seems from the 1881 census, which lists her (with son Alfred) as married to Isaac Bradshaw. Alfred was listed as a scholar, which fits with the fact that he would have been 17.

Pipemaker in Spelter works, according to his son’s birth certificate.
http://www.genuki.org.uk/big/wal/GLA/Swansea/slaters-swansea.html#brick gives a transcription from the Slaters Commercial Directory, 1858-1859, which lists a Benjamin Sneyd (in Morriston), who was listed as a brick and tile maker. This is very likely to be our Benjamin, although I have no proof of that. But everything matches.
I’m pretty sure I’ve found his marriage certificate at www.freebmd.org.uk. Says he married Margaret Ellen Jones in September, 1863, in Swansea. Vol. 11a, page 651.
