He married at least twice. Frances was his first wife.756
On 21st September 1639, described as of Denton and a widower, he married Frances Cosen, widow, the daughter of William Cosen, at St Margaret's, Canterbury; she was born in 1615. His children were born in a number of parishes near Elham, so perhaps he held land in these, possibly in right of his first wife Frances. He is known more often than not as of Barham.756
