Vicar of East Malling, and New Romney in Kent.756 He married Anne, daughter of David Papillon of Acrise, in Kent. She had been baptized at St Mary Breadman, Canterbury on 7th August 1716.756

He was a scholar of the King's School Canterbury and attended between 1725-1730. He gained his BA in 1736, and became a Fellow of All Souls College, Oxford, and was soon afterwards awarded an MA. He took Holy Orders and married Anne Papillon by licence dated 24th August 1750. He was vicar of East Malling and New Romney from 1749 until his death, at New Romney, on 6th January 1763.756
