Notes for William Peddie
He became a bookseller.
769 He had a son born who was named Edwin born 1821. William never married the mother Janet Haugh and Edwin died unmarried in 1868. William Peddie, a bookseller in King Street, Stirling, died aged 92 in 1891 at 10 Queen Street, Stirling.
In his will William Peddie mentions his brother James’ children in New Zealand. James Peddie in Dunedin and Mrs Janet Peddie or Clark who were both to receive £100 each. (George was dead by this time, as he died of dropsy in Dunedin in 1863). Cecilia their sister was of independent means which I think her father arranged when he remarried. William also left 2 nieces £100 each, Catherine and Caroline Peddie, children of his brother Robert, who were of an age with Cecilia Peddie who was probably closest to William living as she did in Stirling.
