2nd daughter of John Bowes, late Earl of Strathmore in Scotland. She eloped to marry Henry when she was only 18, but since she lived with her mother, not her husband, in later years, I’m guessing she came to regret her elopement.

And her mother, Mary Eleanor Bowes, has a real story, oh my word. “The Unhappy Countess” she was called, and books have been written about her.
