From BBB:
15b 1854, prob in Dublin. Was possibly employed in the firm of Boileau and Boyd, but does not appear to have held any special position. He was appt a Freeman of the City of Dublin in 1880, and it is likely that he d a few years later.

In 2014 Sidney Holdrege found more accurate information about his death:
Ireland Calendar of Wills and Administrations 1905-1906, image 22 of 563. (Accessed
familysearch.org 23 Aug 2014)
EDWARD JOHN BOILEAU 25 February. Administration of the estate of Edward John Boileau late of Ben Eider, Sutton, County Dublin, Commercial Traveller who died 5 January 1905 at the Adelaide Hospital Peter-street, Dublin; granted at Dublin to Sarah Dora Boileau the widow. Effects £189.
So Edward died in 1905 and wasn’t worth a whole lot.
Sidney also sent me a copy of his birth notice in the Dublin Evening Mail of Feb 17, 1854:
"Feb 14 at 10, Waterloo-road, the wife of John Geo. Boileau of a son."
