Under this Tombe lieth ye Body of Richard BEALE of Biddenden, Clothier, who died October 30th 1691 aged 72 years and nine months. He was twice married, his first wife was Mary daughter of Mr SEAMAN, Minister of Bredgate (sic) By whom he left one son William. His second wife was widow of John NEWENDEN by whom he left another son, John, who erected this tomb. A………94. North side. Here also lieth Mary second wife of Richard Beale who died July ye sixth 1696 aged 73 years and four months.”
Note how the two girls weren’t mentioned. One of them died young, and most likely the other did also.
