From Kate50: Arthur went to sea in “Temple Knight” and the first boat to pick up signals from the Titanic. Killed soon after returning. Intended settling down. Went to Auckland to look for a job. Had a temporary job on a coal hulk. Helped friend to close hatch and fell down 45 ft and broke his neck.

The Evening Post (20 June, 1914) has a short article:

SAILOR KILLED
Falls down a hold.

Auckland, 19th June.
A sailor named. A. Norgrove fell down the hold of the collier Kauri at the Queen’s Wharf this afternoon and was killed. The doctor of HMS Psyche went to th eman’s assistance, but death had been instantaneous. Deceased was single, about 24 years of age, and belonged to Blenheim.
