15[BBB]: Claude i was a captain in a regiment of Montpezat, and is said to have been killed at the siege of Cerisolles. This is in Piedmont, and it has been impossible to discover anything about such an action, nor can the regiment be identified, the regular one of that name not coming into existence until later. Claude was killed in 1616. It is a possibility that the unit was part of some private army, and that Claude took service under the Duke of Savoy in Piedmont.
