[C-D, XIV, 147]. Baron de Montclus, Seigneur de Tresques, Issirac, Saint-Andre-de-Roquepertuis, du Gard & d’Orgnac, Juge Mage de Nimes, etc. He is the ancestor of the main branch of the Barons of Montclus, of the family Montcalm, and his issue for another couple of generations is in C-D. Received in Parliament on the 8th of August, 1562; he presided, in this capacity, in the Assembly of the inhabitants of Nimes that was held on the occasion of Saint Bartholemew’s day, and prevented any disorder. On the 4th of March, 1579, Henry III gave him a pension of 100 écus in recognition of the service that he and his family, the house of Montcalm, had rendered to the crown over the last 300 years. In 1589 he sold his office to Louis de Rochemore.
