Born 1927 in India at Murmet. When his parents were on their way to take up Jack’s ill-omened posting in Persia in 1932, Michael was parked with Granny SOMERVILLE at Stubbington. Like his father Michael was educated at Winchester. He served with the Royal Greenjackets in Palestine, before becoming a businessman working for Steel Bros in Burma and finishing in London. He started his own business in Devon in 1970. He married Rosemary Brooke and they lived at The Old Rectory, Lamerton, Tavistock, Devon. Michael was a keen fisherman and excellent shot. He died peacefully on 17 July 1997 after a happy family supper. Rosemary has moved back into Tavistock.
