Notes for Thomas (iii) Graham
Apparently descended from a branch of the Grahams of Esk (according to Burke’s, but then Burke’s makes so many mistakes one can’t really be sure). I’ve made a separate page for the Graham ancestry bit. Burke’s Landed Gentry (1937 edition) stops here, but the Graham pedigree is continued and expanded in THB Graham’s article. Trans. CWAAS N.S. VII, p.13.

He was Thomas Graham of Edmond Castle. Arms: Per pale indented erminois and sable, and a chief per pale of the last and or, three escallops counterchanged. Crest: Two armed arms ppr., garnished or, embowed issuing out of the battlements of a tower, also ppr., holding an escallop gold. Motto: N’Oublie. Seat: Edmond Castle, Cumberland.14 This must have been an earlier building than the one that stands there now, which was apparently built in the early 1800s.

They married the same year that the Old Pretender was proclaimed King of England at Brampton (close by). They resided for many years at Warwick Bridge but eventually returned to live with their father and mother at Edmond Castle.5
Notes for Mary (Spouse 1)
A widow, of Warwick Bridge
