Wedding photo of my mother
Wedding photo of my mother
My mother, Rosalie Helen McPherson in full wedding regalia, holding on to some silly fake white fence thing. Who on earth thought it would be a good idea to hold on to the silly fake grating thing? Not my mother, I bet. However, the really funny thing in this picture is the caption. Read it carefully. Yes, you're right. It reads "Queen Elizabeth the Second". Now, you might think this was simply my mother being silly, and you'd normally be right. But not this time. Nope, this photo lived in my paternal grandmother's house (i.e., Dad's mother). And oh, how she hated my mother for stealing away her precious son. Mum was never forgiven. So Granny took this wedding photo, changed to caption to read "Queen Elizabeth the Second", and displayed it prominently, so that everyone could see how she thought her daughter-in-law was a stuck-up little shit. One of the many reasons I just cannot think of old Granny with any kindness. Bit sad, really. All so unnecessary.
