Graham of Edmond Castle

Low Moor Lodge. Unknown date.
This is NOT Gardener's Cottage as I thought at first. It's the house on the grounds that is now known as Low Moor Lodge. However, I've left in the information about Gardener's Cottage as it might be useful some day, even if not for this particular photograph. ----------------------------- Gardener's Cottage. From Ruth Smithson, who says: "Gardeners cottage is off the main drive to Edmond castle about ½ mile down. There’s a little road off to the right called Garden Walk. Our place would originally have stood by it’s self but there are two lots of semi-detached houses on each side….built by the bad boys!! The road is now a dead end with a walled garden. It’s a shame you didn’t see it but Garden Walk is often by passed as it just looks like a path into the woods. I’d say the cottage and walled garden go back to 1820’s onwards. The walled garden was bought by one of the staff from the bad boys school and he converted it into a house. It’s 5 acres total and lovely…..still has the fan trained fruit trees with names in latin growing up the walls. It’s a great piece of history."
